Basics
Digby's Donuts is a high-speed puzzle game that puts you in control of the donut shop. Each round, colored pastries plummet from the donut-making machine above. You must catch them and drop them into the glass case so customers can see them. The objective is to get donuts of like colors onto the same case shelves, but with pastries plummeting past, that can be a lot harder than it seems!
Controls
Move the donut catcher left and right with your mouse -- donuts that land on it will stay there. You can stack more than one donut on your catcher at one time (which helps because they fall really fast), and then left click when your catcher is over the shelf you want to drop the top donut on your stack. Throughout the first few missions, a tutorial window will pop up now and then, explaining the finer points of donut wrangling.
Blunders
The game is pretty easy for the first few stages, but it gets hard fast. Digby is operating a business here, not some sideshow for butterfingered donut droppers. If you fail to catch a donut before it falls, if you overcrowd a display case, or if you put bad product on display, you're awarded a Blunder. Earn too many of these and the game's over...Digby will have to go back to his day job, just another failed donutepreneur. You don't want that on your conscience.
Tip: The Art of Stacking
When you stack multiple donuts on the catcher, remember that left-clicking drops them in reverse order -- that is, the one on top of the stack drops first. If you plan your cases out carefully, you can stack up falling donuts and create huge combos.
Tip: One Donut, Medium Rare
In later levels, the donut machine will occasionally drop burned (burning, actually, literally in flames, so watch your hands) donuts down on you. You can catch these normally, but of course they can't go in the display -- instead, hurl them into a waste receptacle conveniently located near the donut counter.
Tip: And You Thought Franchising was Hard
The Franchise game mode is Digby's Donuts' equivalent of a campaign; it tells the story of Digby and his quest for donut dominance. If you want a real challenge, choose Arcade mode: it's just endlessly dropping donuts with no reprieve at all. See how long you can last!
