Challenge Mode
In Challenge Mode, you are given a short list of hands to build in the lower-right area of the screen. The play field is on the left, and the card in hand (and the next one in the deck) are shown on the right. Click on a space in the play field to place the card there. Once a row is filled with cards, you’ll score points depending on the value of the poker hand you made. When you finish all the hands on the list, you move on to the next level.
Freestyle Mode
Freestyle Mode plays like Challenge Mode, but the quota to meet is a number of points rather than a specific combination of cards. Once you score the requisite points -- using any combinations you want -- you’ll move on to the next level.
Joker's Wild Mode
In Joker’s Wild Mode, your goal is to score points, as in Freestyle Mode, but occasionally you will get Jokers dealt to you. As you might have guessed, these are wildcards that will automatically create the best hand possible with the rest of the cards in the combination. With judicious use of Jokers, it’s even possible to score a five-of-a-kind hand for major points!
Tournament Mode
In Tournament Mode, you’re once more shooting for the highest score possible, but under the duress of a time limit! If time runs out or if you run out of cards, the game ends and your score is displayed. You can play Tournament Mode with any number of decks, allowing for longer games and trickier combinations.
Tip: Reserved Rows
In games where you endeavor to score as many points as possible, it’s often a good idea to use only three rows of the game board for low-scoring moves while you shuffle through the cards looking for the perfect scoring combination. For example, set aside the bottom row for the ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of Spades and make low-scoring moves in the other three to progress through the deck.
Tip: Lock Out
If you fill a row with five cards and they don’t form at least a pair, you’re locked out of that row forever and can’t use the cards you wasted anymore.
Tip: Multipliers
In later levels it is impossible to progress with the points available by making regular combinations. In these instances, multipliers will let you continue. If you match combinations with consecutive cards -- requiring you to fill four cards in a row and fill the fifth card of each row on subsequent moves -- you will score double the points for the second combination, triple for the third, and quadruple points for the fourth.
