Controls
The basic controls of Infernal match those of most other shooters: WASD keys to move Lennox, the mouse to look around, left mouse button to attack. The right button unleashes your Infernal attack, a fiery blast that incinerates enemies but consumes precious mana. Throughout the early portion of the game, information windows pop up describing new actions and controls that might come in handy. You can also customize the controls through the Options section of the Main Menu.
Infernal Powers
Pistols, shuriken, energy rifles...earthly weapons are great most of the time, but there are occasions when a little extra help from the beyond is required. Lennox has access to a variety of infernal powers that can come in very handy in combat, but are generally more useful when you're trying to escape some danger or get to an otherwise inaccessible area. All these powers consume mana, which is magical energy that you must replenish by feeding off the souls of defeated foes.
Tip: Roll 'em Up
Double tap in any direction when you're not near a wall to execute a roll. This is a great way to dodge attacks or close the distance between enemies. Best of all, you're semi-incorporeal when you roll, so you can slide right through many barriers.
Tip: No Hands
The Telekinesis power is one of the most effective tools in Lennox's infernal arsenal. You can use it to move barriers and obstacles, throw switches and levers, and distract guards.
Basics
Infernal is a shooter that places you in the shoes of Ryan Lennox, once an angel, now fallen and hunted by his former allies. Throwing his lot in with the forces of Satan, been assigned to figure out what a Heaven-backed company called EtherLight is up to...and it's going to take a lot of bullets, plus a heaping helping of evil magic, to do the trick. High action, clever puzzles and astounding graphics set this shooter apart, and the true nature of good and evil will keep you guessing.
Gameplay
The wages of sin, it turns out, aren't really that great: Lennox is basically working for the devil because he's got nowhere else to go. It's not clear what EtherLight is up to, but -- strangely enough -- for a Heaven-financed organization, its behavior is surprisingly diabolic. You'll have to blast your way through a horde of enemies to figure out what the company is really trying to accomplish, and Lennox's unique magical powers and skill with a handgun make him the perfect man for the job.
Tip: Under Cover
Double-tap forward to press yourself against a wall or ledge, then hold the Alt key and press a direction to lean out and aim from behind cover. This tactic is especially useful when foes don't know you're there, or are concentrating heavy fire on your position.
Tip: No Rush
Stopping to suck up souls can be very dangerous if enemies are still visible. Most enemies' bodies stick around for a while, and the souls just hang out in them -- wait until you've exterminated all your foes, then dine at your leisure.
