Basics

You start the game on the first of Southwick’s three floors. Harry Hooligan is one level above you, and you’ve got to catch up with him before he makes it all the way across the roof. Maneuver your "kop" with the direction keys and jump with the fire button. You can track the "krook" using the radar on the bottom of the screen: the white dot is Harry, the black dot is you. You’ll also be able to track the position of elevators using this radar.

Moves

Use the escalators at either side of each floor, or the elevator in the middle of the store, to move from level to level. Just run at escalators to start riding one (they only go up). To use the elevator, stop in front of it when the door opens and push up to get in, then ride to the desired floor and push down to get out.

Timer

Watch the timer countdown in the upper right of the screen, below your score. If the timer runs out before you catch Harry, you lose a kop and have to start the level over. Harry can also escape capture if he reaches the far end of the roof before you catch up with him.

Obstacles

You have to jump over the bouncing beach balls, whizzing shopping carts and cathedral radios Harry has left behind to slow you down. A collision with one of these items will reduce the amount on the timer, so they’re best avoided. More dangerous are the model airplanes that appear in later levels -- duck these by pushing the down key. If an airplane hits you, you’ll lose a kop. Lose all three kops and you'll be back on traffic duty!

Tip: Loot

Scattered throughout the store are briefcases and moneybags -- Harry’s stolen loot. Collect as much as you can to increase your score. If you reach 10,000 points, you earn an extra kop. You also get bonus points for catching Harry in a short time.

Tip: The Roof

There is no way off the roof once you get up there -- the elevator doesn’t go that high. Don’t climb onto the roof unless you’ve got Harry cornered.

Tip: The Elevator

Elevators are not usually the best way to go. Though they help you cover a lot of ground, you will often lose valuable time waiting for one to appear on your floor.
