Objectives
The game begins at a posh cocktail party and things go downhill from there. One of the first objectives is to discover why two guards were murdered at one of Largo's labs in Mexico. This leads to a missing scientist who may have been involved in some unsavory research. You're going to have to get to the bottom of the mystery before industrial sabotage of epic proportions occurs. Accomplish this by solving puzzles and gathering evidence as you get closer to the heart of the mystery.
Controls
Largo Winch is controlled with the keyboard: maneuver Largo onscreen with the arrows and use the spacebar to manipulate objects. You can examine items more closely -- something you'll want to do a lot -- by hitting Enter. Summon your inventory screen with the Control key. From this interface you can combine some items to form others.
Basics
Largo Winch is a character-driven adventure game. Playing as Largo from a third-person view, you'll explore areas, talk to people and solve many mysteries that often turn deadly. This is a more cerebral experience, a mystery rather than a shootout, so your path through the story depends on how well you use the information you have.
Tip: PDA
Refer often to your PDA -- it contains all your notes and objectives. This is also where you save and quit games.
Tip: Combinations
Remember to try combining items in your inventory. If you've got an empty glass and a bottle of champagne, combining the two makes a handy gift for a lady you'd like to impress. This particular drink goes to Sharon in the VIP room.
Tip: Combat
There is some combat in the game, but it's turn-based. Just choose how you want to punish your opponent and execute the move; no fast reflexes required.
Tip: Saving
Save your game often -- Largo can meet his maker in a number of unpleasant ways, so you'll want to be prepared with a recent load point.
