Landing
Your lunar lander is basically on autopilot as it descends through the atmosphere. You must move it left or right to avoid collisions and choose a landing pad while avoiding asteroids on the way down. As you approach the planet's surface, select a plateau from which to rescue an astronaut.
Returning
As you return to the mothership, enemy flying saucers will attempt to drop Space Invaders-style missiles on you. Press the fire button to shoot straight up to return the favor. There are a total of six astronauts that must be rescued per screen. Once you clear a screen, you are awarded additional points.
Tip: Fuel Reserves
Conserving fuel is extremely important to the success of your mission. If you spend all of your fuel too early, you won’t be able to use it to rescue the rest of the men. Instead of expelling fuel on the descent, concentrate on avoiding the asteroids -- your lander won’t accelerate or crash on touch down.
Tip: Extra Lives
Players are awarded an extra lander at 3,000 points.
Tip: Docking
When you reach the top of the screen on the way back up, you still have to dock with the mothership. If you miss the mothership or hit it on the side, the man you’re rescuing will fall to his death.
