Controls
Control the game with the mouse or keyboard. Use the arrow keys to move, or use the mouse to change which direction your robot faces and hold down the left mouse button to walk in that direction. Press the [Ctrl] key or click the right mouse button to jump. Press [Esc] to bring up your personal organizer -- the game’s option menu.
Puzzles
The Eidolon is split into several distinct rooms -- and most rooms have a puzzle in them to solve. You will be guided by HEL 9000, the artificial intelligence of the ship, so it should always be pretty clear what your goals are, but achieving those goals might take a bit of brainpower. Collect Energon, key cards, and other items to help you get through each room.
Ghost Hacking
Ghost hacking has your robot’s sentience -- his “ghost” -- enter another robot’s brain network. After equipping the proper Ghost chips through your personal assistant’s “Manage Ghost” option, you can enter other robots’ brain networks. At each node, there’s a chance of a conflict with the robot’s intrusion countermeasures, which plays out in a menu-based RPG-style battle. When you find and destroy the main rogue agent, you’ve won and may leave the network.
Saving
Waypoints are blue energy fields. Step inside them to save your game progress. If you get stuck, you can choose the “Last Waypoint” option to return to the last Waypoint you used.
Tip: Slow Scroll
The default text speed in the game tends to crawl. Thankfully, you can right-click or press [Shift] to instantly display all of the text without delay (this means your robot will often hop up and down during dialog sequences). If you accidentally click too fast and miss something, you can review past messages by pressing [Esc] and bringing up the Message Log.
Tip: Momentum
With a big, heavy metal body, your robot has a bit of inertia to overcome when changing direction. Be careful not to move too fast on narrow walkways or delicate situations, or you might lose control.
Tip: Room Reset
Stuck? Painted into a corner? Bring up your personal organizer and click “Reset Room” to put everything back automatically.
