Basics

Ocean Express is a puzzle game similar to Tetris -- but it has its own quirks that make it enjoyable and addictive all the same. Your job is simple: fill the shipping barges as they come by. But crates come in all shapes and sizes, so you must carefully organize the layout of each barge's hold by cleverly piecing together the crates. Watch for special items the local regions are famous for. Include those on the ship for big cash. Do it all before the time runs out and you'll see your money grow.

Controls

Control the game with the mouse. As differently-shaped crates come along on the conveyor at the bottom of the screen, left click to pick them up. You can rotate them with the right mouse button, then drop them on the ship with another left click. The game will pop up tutorial windows throughout your first couple of missions to explain how the interface works. This is a very simple game, but the puzzles can be fiendish.

Tokens

You're awarded money for well-stacked ships, and bonuses for any special goods you load on board. Based on your performance, you'll also receive tokens, which you can use to buy access to other ports and more complicated puzzles. Each port has its own special cargo and introduces differently-shaped shipping crates. The more efficiently you stack cargo during play, the more tokens you receive.

Tip: The Puzzle Maker

Choose "Create Puzzles" to build your own ship designs.

Tip: Time and Money Powerups

Watch for icons that appear on the ship's deck, or on certain cargo crates. If you successfully place a crate on a dollar sign icon on board a ship, you earn a cash bonus. Crates with alarm clock symbols grant you extra time.

Tip: Heave Ho

If you've picked up a crate you can't place, or if there are no usable crate shapes on the conveyor, you can drop crates into the water to move the procession along. Don't do this often; each one you drop costs you money.
