Painkiller is a first-person shooter (FPS) developed by Polish Studio People Can Fly (Gears of War PC) and published by JoWood. Players take control of Daniel Garner, who dies in a car accident at the beginning of the game's narrative. He is cast into Purgatory and hired by Heavenly forces to kill Lucifer's forces and prevent a war between Heaven and Hell. Win, and join your wife in Heaven. Lose, and...well, let's not dwell on that, shall we?
