Powerups
The Prince can restore his life with a drink of water; if this drink comes from a fountain, you may also save your game. Later you'll find additional powers for the prince, including new and better swords, special weapons for your two-weapon skills, life extensions that make the Prince tougher to kill, and even abilities that let you manipulate time itself.
Basics
If you've played Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, you'll already know how to get around most of Warrior Within. Even if you haven't, the first two areas of the game give you instructions on how to move around, attack enemies, and execute the Prince's trademark acrobatics. The tutorial continues even after Shahdee, the woman in the -- erm -- impractical armor maroons the Prince on an island.
Combat
The Prince is capable at fighting with a weapon in each hand, and can flip over his foes' heads to get the drop on them from behind. But don't get carried away hacking at your eneies! The Prince is somewhat fragile, so use your abilities to block and roll out of harm's way to avoid getting hurt.
Acrobatics
Between fights, the Prince will have a series of obstacles in his path -- there are virtually no wide, flat roads or corridors in the game. Thankfully, the Prince can run like a gazelle and climb like an ape -- you can leap across chasms, run up or along walls, hang from ledges, slip through gaps, and more. It sounds like a lot, but the game will tell you how it's done (and there are only two buttons used to execute every manuever).
Tip: All In Perspective
It can be hard to find your way through some of the acrobatic puzzles using the default camera view -- the fortress gate near the beginning of the game is a fine example. Don't forget that you can look around in first-person and landscape views to get a better look at your surroundings. Maybe you'll find that ledge you need for your step up to the next challenge!
Tip: Acrobatic Maneuvers
If there's a ledge nearly anywhere on the map, you can be assured that you'll be able to get there sooner or later. Remember that you can combine the Prince's acrobatics in some surprising ways -- you might have to run along the vertical span of a wall, launch yourself off said wall, grab a pillar, spin around, leap off, grab a handhold with your fingertips, haul yourself up to a narrow ledge, edge around the wall, and leap across another chasm to get to where you're going, but you can make it.
