The Story

The world of Etheria is being overrun by a mysterious evil force! Create a custom hero and protect your home kingdom of Bartonia from the undead invasion. Venture forth to new lands and find the source of these creatures to bring peace to Bartonia once and for all.

Creating a Hero

Every new quest starts at the "Create Hero” screen. Here you can name your hero, choose among the game’s four professions (Druid, Knight, Warrior and Wizard), and finally, choose your hero’s physical appearance by scrolling through the portraits with the right and left arrows.

The World Map

In-between battles you will strategically travel on the World Map of Etheria, journeying across the lands and embarking on quests. Your home city of Bartonia gives you access to your Citadel, the local tavern, and a shop. You can also get new quests here. Once you have unlocked new locations on the map, click on them with the left button to travel there. But watch out – enemies may block your progress, at which point you will fight them on the Battle Grid!

The Battle Grid

The Battle Grid is where you will spend the majority of your quest. This is an 8x8 grid that holds a variety of tiles that include Mana Gems, Skulls, Coins, and Wild Cards. You fight your opponent by connecting groups of 3, 4 or 5 items in order to gain their specific effects. The combat is turn-based, meaning after you’ve used up your turn, your opponent automatically uses its own.

Mana

There are four types of Mana Gems: Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. Matching 3, 4 or 5 of these together either horizontally or vertically will reward you with Mana points that match that specific color. Different spells require different combinations of colored mana, so try to keep a well-rounded stock.

Skulls

Matching 3, 4 or 5 skulls inflicts direct damage to your opponent – the more skulls matched, the higher the damage. There are also +5 skulls, which cause an even greater amount of pain!

Stars & Coins

Connecting Stars gives your Hero experience points, which are used to gain new levels and abilities. Likewise, connecting Coins adds currency to your hero’s gold reserves, which can be exchanged for items after the battle is through.

Tip: Spells

As you advance, your hero will learn spells based on his or her profession. Each spell gives you either an offensive or defensive advantage on the Battle Grid, and eats up the mana you collect by matching Mana Gems. Most players can get through early battles without relying on spells, but we recommend mastering them as soon as possible to use on trickier enemies down the line.

Tip: Wild Cards

Wild Cards act in place of any Mana Gem, meaning that you can use it as a substitute at any time. Wild Cards are crucial in building huge combos, so use them wisely.
