Levels
As you advance, each pyramid level becomes more difficult and exiting rooms can become a real brain-buster. If you find yourself in an inescapable position, hold down the jump button and press start: you will return to the room's starting position, and all blocks will be returned to their original locations. This reset, however, will cost you one life. If you're really frustrated, hold down the kick button and press start to skip the room entirely (this will also cost you a life).
Lives
Play continues until you've lost all of your lives or completed every room in the pyramid. If you touch the mummy guarding the exit, fall from a ledge while holding a block, restart a room or skip a room, you will lose a life. You can gain a life by completing a room -- depending upon the amount of time it took you to finish. At the end of some rooms, passwords are given that allow you to save your game progress.
Basics
At the title screen, press the start button -- you'll begin your game in the first room of the pharoah's pyramid. To move your daring explorer left or right, push the controller in either direction. To jump, press the jump button. To break certain blocks, press the jump button twice: once to leave the ground, and then again while in mid-air. To lift particular blocks, press the grab button. Finally, to break blocks on the ground, or to kick open treasure chests, press the kick button.
Goal
Your objective is to reach the exit in each room. Standing in your way is a ghostly mummy acting as a guard. The only way to get rid of this foul specter is to banish him with a spell written on a piece of ancient parchment. To find it, first find the red key in each room, and then use it to open the red treasure chest. There, you'll receive a green key, which can be used to open the green treasure chest, locked home of the coveted parchment. Grab the parchment and the mummy will vanish!
Tip: Throw Outline
If you hold onto a block and stay still for a second, an outline will appear near you, illustrating where the block will land if you throw it. Use this guide to determine exactly where any blocks you're holding will fall if you drop them.
Tip: Don't Skip
If you can, try not to skip rounds...you'll only cheat yourself out of extra lives you might earn by completing some rounds.
Tip: Tight Squeeze
Before attempting to squeeze through a cramped tunnel, grab a block. The block compresses the explorer's body, allowing him to fit into the tunnel's opening.
Tip: Call For Mummy
In order unravel the mummy guarding each exit, you'll need to break open both treasure chests.
