Basics

You start each level with an empty screen. Your mission is to use your marker to draw boxes of any shape and size in order to fill up at least 75% of the playing field. Hold one of your two drawing buttons (fast or slow) and direct your marker around each game zone using the directional buttons.

Gameplay

The slower you draw your boxes, the more points you'll gain. But if one of the line-crawling Sparx touches your marker, you'll lose a life. Even worse, if the meandering Qix touches any part of an unfinished box...that's all she wrote.

Tip: Mad Dash

If you're feeling really brave, wait until the Qix is at one end of the playfield and make a mad dash right through the center of the screen. You'll rack up huge points and claim a huge percentage of the screen in one move.

Tip: The Qix And The Dead

Last move not crazy enough for you? Try this: Try to trap the Qix in a corner. This move rarely works, but you can actually finish the level in one stroke if you pull it off.

Tip: Quick Draw

If you're using the slow draw button in an attempt to get major points, don't forget you're allowed to switch to fast draw in mid-line. Keep it in mind just in case the nefarious Qix makes a sudden move in your direction.

Tip: The Two Towers

Creating two tall, opposing rectangles on each side of the playing field sets up a really nice move. Simply draw a short line between the tops of each rectangle to regain a huge chunk of the playfield with relative ease.
