Basics

Billiards is very similar to pool, but involves fewer balls on the table at any given time. Each round features either six or nine balls in addition to the white cue ball. Players are given three cue balls per game; a cue ball is lost when you fail to knock one of the colored balls into a pocket, or when you send the cue ball into a pocket. You will also lose a ball in a two-player game if you cause the black 8-ball to drop into a pocket before all other balls are removed from the table.

Timer

You begin with 90 seconds of play time which ticks away as you line up and prepare your shots. You earn additional time for each ball you sink. If your timer runs down to zero, the game continues until you make your shot. If your shot is successful, you're allowed to continue playing with the bonus time earned; if you miss the shot, the game will end. The game also ends when you lose all three of your cue balls.

Shooting

Aim your shots by rotating the dotted line that centers on the cue ball. The line indicates the direction your shot will travel. Once you've set up your shot, your character will appear on-screen behind the ball. The power of your stroke is determined by a sliding meter in the upper right-hand corner of the screen -- the meter rapidly fills and depletes. Take your shot when the meter is right and try to sink your ball.

Tip: Scoring

You're rewarded for special feats, including shots pocketed consecutively and balls pocketed in numerical sequence, so be sure to consider these factors when setting up shots.

Tip: Challenge Mode

A challenge stage is available between rounds, allowing you to rack up impressive bonus points with increasingly complex single shots.
