Basics

One or two players can play Snafu. Player one is always red and player two is always blue. You may move your snake freely in any direction except backwards. Avoid colliding with the trails left behind by other snakes (including your own) while trying to cause your opponents to crash. In certain rounds, you'll have to avoid extra obstacles as well.

Modes

There are two game modes in Snafu. The first, Trap mode, is the simplest -- you control one of the snakes as you attempt to trap the other snakes and take over the most area. The second game mode is Bite mode. When playing Bite, you need to employ the exact opposite tactics! Try to collide with your opponent's trail to sever its links. Each snake's links grow back slowly over time, for a maximum of 20. The first person to detach his opponent's head from its tail wins.

Tip: It's a Trap!

In Trap mode, try trapping opposing players in a corner, or create channels which limit their movements.

Tip: The Grid

All movement is based on an invisible grid, meaning you can only turn when you reach a grid intersection. Anticipate this limitation by pressing the controller just a moment before you turn.

Tip: Bite Mode

In Bite mode, always play defensively once you've been reduced to just a few links. It's better to grow new links than run the risk of being devoured.
