Basics

Stand O' Food is one of those ridiculously simple, yet highly addictive games of timing, hand-eye coordination, and advanced planning skills. Customers visiting various fast food joints are hungry...your job is to assemble their orders correctly and in a timely fashion by putting together ingredients as they come shooting out of the kitchen. Things get fast and furious really quick: it takes elbow grease (and grease off the grill) to succeed.

Tutorial

Click the tutorial button from the main menu to access a brief instructional guide on how to play -- this will walk you through the basics of sandwich assembly and give you a few quick time trials against forgiving opponents. Then head back to the main menu and choose Meal Quest -- Stand O' Food's equivalent of a full campaign. By successfully running each restaurant, you will move up the fast food ranks to ever more prestigious (and demanding) burger, chicken, egg and fish joints.

Shop Upgrades

One of the keys to success in Stand O' Food is the upgrades you can purchase with profits from each day. Coffee makers, juke boxes, special sauce; all that and more is yours, provided you've earned enough money to buy. These shop upgrades will help mollify customers during delays, increase the price of your menu items, even help you prep meals faster -- check each one out carefully, and purchase wisely. Only the best players will accumulate enough money to have them all.

Tip: It's in the Sauce

The first purchase you should make is a set of condiments -- ketchup, tartar sauce, etc. These add to the price of your sandwiches, meaning you make more money with each sale...so they pay for themselves pretty quickly. Condiments get used up (you buy them in blocks of five), so replenish between missions.

Tip: What's the Dish?

You can also purchase sideboard dishes that will hold items you pull off the conveyors. Up to five dishes are available for purchase for $10 apiece. Once you have them all, the game becomes a lot easier, because you'll be able to see and mitigate sandwich-ingredient traffic jams before they ruin your business.

Tip: The Customer is Always Right

Customers have limited patience for delays -- this is FAST food, after all. The longer you keep a customer waiting, the angrier they get, and eventually they'll stomp off in disgust, costing you money.
