Hoping to fill the gap between the original Street Fighter and world-wide smash hit Street Fighter II, Capcom created the Alpha series. While heavily grounded in the exceptional gameplay for which SF2 was known, Alpha featured a much flashier anime-inspired style and faster, more intricate action. The original Alpha series is comparatively simple next to its sequels, but it still holds up well.
