Basics
In the Street Fighter martial-arts competition, each character is competing to prove that both he and his chosen martial art are the best in the world. Use your character's unique moves to fight your way to the head of the tournament, M. Bison, in a series of one-on-one brawls. Whoever wins two out of three rounds will move on to the next stage of the tournament!
Scoring
At the end of each round, you'll be awarded points based upon the remaining time on the clock and how much stamina you have left. If you can take your opponent down without taking a hit, you'll get a hefty bonus.
Controls
Each character has three punches and three kicks at their disposal: one weak, one of medium strength, and one powerful. The more powerful the strike, the slower it is. Depending on your fighter, each punch and kick is different, and has different forms whether you're jumping, standing, moving, or crouching.
Special Moves
Each of the characters have mastered superhuman combat techniques. By entering secret joystick and button combinations, you can throw fireballs, fly into the air and more! Most attacks involve rolling the controls from one direction to another (away from your opponent, then down, then toward your opponent, for instance) and pressing an attack button at the end of the motion. Others "charge" by holding one direction for a second or two, then pressing the opposite direction and an attack button.
Tip: Character Differences
Each character has their own specialties. Zangief is a slow but powerful brawler, while Chun-Li specializes in fast but weak kicks. Experiment with them all to find your favorite.
Tip: Bonus Stages
Every few stages, you'll enter a bonus round to score extra points. Attack the car to smash it to pieces, or break the barrels as they tumble down from above. If you completely demolish the car or break all the barrels, you'll get an extra bonus.
Tip: Throws
When you're close to your opponent, hold the joystick towards him and press the strong punch or the strong kick. Your character will use an unblockable throwing attack!
