Press start twice at the title screen to begin the game. Taz appears in the center of the screen, trapped behind bars -- but that won't last long! Press left and right on the controller to walk in those directions, and press the jump button to leap from the ground. Hold the spin button, and Taz will turn into a furious tornado of claws and teeth! Press left and right on the controller to move Taz while he's spinning, then release the spin button to come to a stop.
Taz has learned a lot of cool tricks since his last adventure. This time, spinning can be used for a lot more than just bopping enemies. If you find a wall in your path that's slightly cracked, spin into it and the barrier will shatter. Taz can also climb walls using the spin, if the walls are close enough together. Jump toward one wall and spin for Taz to bounce between the walls like a fur-covered pinball until he reaches the top!
Taz has also enriched his diet, giving you more weapons to use. The chili peppers have been replaced with gas cans: stand next to the can to devour it, and Taz will blow fire when you press the attack button. Taz can also spit rocks at his enemies, once he eats a box of rocks. Not everything agrees with the mad marsupial, however -- bombs, dynamite, and cakes with firecrackers for candles are very hazardous to his health!
Taz begins his escape with three lives. Each life has an energy bar, shown at the top right hand corner of the screen. Edible food will fill the bar, but contact with enemies or falling into spikes will lower it. Once all the energy in the bar is depleted, Taz loses a life. Once Taz loses all his lives, the game ends. The continue screen will appear, and if you've got credits remaining, walk Taz to the door marked "Continue", and you'll resume your progress.
If you ever see a pillar with a Taz statue standing on top of it, be sure to touch it! This is a progress marker, allowing Taz to continue from that point if he happens to lose a life.
If you can't find your way out a stage, try looking for a ramp near a wall. Once you've spotted one, spin over it, and Taz will scale the wall placed next to it.
