Goals

The goals in Vietcong change from mission to mission, and you'll be able to check your current objectives at any time by jabbing [Tab]. Vietcong is a linear, mission-based game. When you successfully complete one mission, you'll move on to the next.

Basic Training

Vietcong is a first-person shooter, which means most of the action is viewed from your character's personal POV. Press and hold the [W], [A], [S] and [D] keys to move up, left, down and right, respectively. [Q] and [E] can be used to lean left or right. Use [Spacebar] to jump, [Shift] to crouch, and [Ctrl] to go prone and stay behind cover. Hold down [Caps Lock] in order to walk slowly. [Enter] will enable you to interact with certain objects, while [Tab] will help you check your objectives.

Using Weapons

Move your mouse about the screen to aim at your targets. Clicking the right mouse button will allow you to aim down the sights of your current weapon, while clicking the left mouse button will fire. Use the [C] button to switch from automatic to single fire on certain weapons, and use [R] to reload any weapon. You can drop your current weapon by pressing [Backspace]. There is an interactive tutorial in the game that should be checked out for additional commands.

Tip: Zombie Attack!

In the first mission at Nui Pek, head to your bunk immediately and try to open the locked door there at least 15 times.

Tip: Watch for Traps

Don't run headlong through the jungle if you don't have to. Keep your pace slow and keep one eye on the ground in search of tripwires.

Tip: Reload!

It's always a good idea to reload your primary weapon when there's a lull in the action.
