Goals
The goal of Zork: Grand Inquisitor is to free the land from the tyrannical Grand Inquistor. To achieve this noble end, you'll need to acquire three magical artifacts: the Skull of Yoruk, the Coconut of Quendor and the Block of Foundation. To put a stop to Yannick's reign, you'll have to solve puzzles and triumph over terrible (and not so terrible) monsters to recover these valuable treasures.
Controls
There are more than fifty different areas in Zork, and each offers a full 3D panorama to explore. Moving about is absolutely simple: simply move your cursor where you want to go; when you've found a path you can use, the on-screen icon will turn gold and a single click will take you to the next area. You can also manipulate objects in the game world and explore, collect and use inventory items with the cursor.
Challenges
Much of the game revolves around solving puzzles and unraveling tricky riddles. Talk to everyone you meet and think of logical (and illogical) ways to apply what you've learned and collected to solve each new situation. Remember to save often, especially before trying something dangerous!
Tip: Arcane Adventures
The Grand Inquisitor has banned the use of all magic, but since you're the hero, it's OK to stretch the rules a little. Every spell will come in handy at some point (even "Turn Purple Things Invisible"), so don't be afraid to try everything.
Tip: Experiment
In fact, make that your rule of thumb: whenever you're in doubt, try everything! Eventually, something will work.
Tip: Inventory
Inventory items and spells are available from both a pull-down menu and a separate inventory screen -- use whichever is most convenient for your play style!
Tip: Saving
Most importantly, save often!
