Basics

If you've played the original Myst, then you know the basics already: Myst is a point-and click adventure full of clever puzzles that even the most cunning players will find extremely challenging. Exploration is key, and only by carefully gathering clues will you discover countless vivid worlds and secrets dangling just out of reach.

Ages

You begin on the island of Myst, all alone. Only after deciphering several cryptic clues from the island's former inhabitants will you begin to understand what's going on, and the need to reach other worlds, or "Ages". But even unlocking these Ages is tricky and requires some inventive problem-solving...

Story

Through the works of Atrus, the mysterious benefactor of Myst Island and the author of many of its secrets, you will begin to piece together the game's story. Sirrus and Achenar are trapped in malfunctioning linking books in the library on Myst, and require your help to escape.

Tip: Logic

The puzzles of Myst are designed to be realistic and logical, so the solutions will never be random or obscure. If you get stuck, think about how things might work if Myst were a real place.

Tip: Library

The library is a major source of information. Be aware that while most of the books in the shelf are burned, some are still readable.

Tip: Rotating Tower

If you're really stuck in the Myst Age, spin the Rotating Tower so that it points to a landmark nearby, then explore the tower itself for a clue to the puzzle associated with that landmark.

Tip: All Sources

Only the most observant player will pick up on all the trails of breadcrumbs that lead to the game's solutions. Details from the books, visual hints and even audio cues will come into play if Myst is to be conquered.
